Series Title: Jesus From Seven Sources
The Soldiers Scourge & Mock Jesus
Matthew 27:26b (when he had scourged), 27-30;

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they called and gathered together unto him the whole band. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet purple robe. And when the soldiers had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand and bowing the knee before him, they worshipped him, and began to salute him and mock him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and smote him with their hands, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
