Which Has More Power?
Let me ask you a question: If you or I or any other man says; “You should not commit murder.” Or… We read in God’s Word: Exodus 20:13 KJV “Thou shalt not kill.” Which has more power – the statement made by a man or the same truth read in God’s Word?
The religious spirits that tend to hang around us Christians might say reading God’s Word has more power – but I don’t think so. I believe it is the “TRUTH” that sets us free (John 8:32). As long as the “statement of truth” spoken by a man has pure intentions and pure motives, it makes NO DIFFERENCE if the truth – that originated with God – is repeated by man or read from God’s Word.
This is what Jesus was trying to teach us when He taught us of the power of our own spoken words in:
Mark 11:23-24 KJ2000 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he said shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he said. 24 Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you shall have them.
There is great power in our tongues if we will only use them for God.
